Both are different names for the same technique, which is also know as eyebrow feathering, featherstroke, feathertouch or eyebrow embroidery.
Eyebrow Microblading is hand-based method of cosmetic tattooing where tiny, fine, natural looking little hair strokes are created - with a handheld pen and a needle containing multiple micro-blades - within the eyebrow areas to perfectly blend in with your natural eyebrow hair. It is also suitable for clients with little to no hair.
A method of eyebrow tattooing that adopts the pixelated shading / powdering method. It delivers a gradient eyebrow effect that is lighter at the bulb of an eyebrow, which becomes more saturated towards the tail end. Ombre' eyebrow tattooing is a popular option for makeup lovers as it has a powdery, lightly pixelated, penciled-in finish.

An eyebrow tattoo treatment takes approximately 2 hours from consultation to finish. Each eyebrow tattoo treatment consists of 2 steps, the initial treatment session and a second called the touch up session, where we further perfect your new eyebrows at 4-8 weeks later. The touch up session takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.
By Australian Laws, clients must be 18+ years of age to be able to receive any cosmetic tattoo treatment from Eye Art Studio.
The pain threshold varies with each individual. Some of our clients have reported minimal pain (about 1-3 out off 10 on the pain scale), whilst others reported they were very comfortable during a cosmetic tattoo procedure, some have even fell asleep during treatment.
Client's comfort is important to Eye Art Studio, we do our best work when our clients are relaxed. Topical Anaesthetic (prepared by a trusted Compound Chemist) is applied before every cosmetic tattoo treatment. Please note - as the female bodies are most sensitive to pain during menstruation, we recommend that bookings be made outside of this period.

Eyebrow Microblading tattoo can last up to 2 years (and more in some cases), fading gradually to a lighter color. The longevity of the eyebrow tattoo depends on many factors, such as the client's skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, medication, skincare products and even hormones. As every client's skin is unique, we can not guarantee the same result for every client. By following aftercare, you can enjoy a better healed result for longer.

The complete healing process for cosmetic tattoo produces takes between 4-8 weeks, this is when your new - be it eyebrow tattoo, eyeliner tattoo, lip tattoo or freckle tattoo- would have "settled" in both shape and colour. Our aftercare guide must be followed to achieve best results. Not following aftercare guide resulting poor retention may require additional touch ups, and additional fees applied.
Right after a procedure, your new eyebrow tattoo will look darker and more prominent than the final healed result. The darker color and thicker shape will settle in a couple of days as the pigment lightens, and swelling (slight, if any) goes down through the healing process. Some clients may experience minimum redness temporarily (up to an hour), while others won't.

There is no downtime after eyebrow tattooing or any cosmetic tattoo procedure.
The healed eyebrow tattoo results will vary in clients, depending on a number of factors mentioned above. This is why our pre-treatment consultation is important and detailed, as we will assess your skin condition vs lifestyle vs your brow goals, and recommend the best option that gives you the most natural, yet longest possible results. Regular smokers and clients with an iron deficiency or who are Anemic may find that their eyebrow tattoos will fade sooner - bleeding (minor) and bruising may occur during and after a cosmetic tattoo procedure for Anemic clients, or those with an iron deficiency. Pre-treatment consultation is given on the day of your treatment, prior to treatment taking place.
Not everyone is a suitable candidate for any cosmetic tattoo procedure, we do not recommend cosmetic tattoo treatment for clients with the following conditions, as your health and safety are most important to us:

There are 2 sessions in an eyeliner tattooing treatment, the initial treatment session, and a touch up session at 6-8 weeks later to further perfect them. Eyeliner tattoo can be as bold (winged/cat eye liner) or as subtle (a gentle lashline enhancement) to suit individual preferences.
Extremely, as we only use single-use, disposable needles, other material and consumables. Our work station is thoroughly disinfected before and after each procedure, and all disposable tools and materials discarded responsibly in accordance with strict Australian Health standards and legislation.
